Ma (as mentioned in "How was the Ropewalker created?") had troubles with her sleep and dreams. Her biggest problem, however, was when she couldn't sleep. Most people know this as "insomnia". Those who 've experienced it, understand.
It is so brutal when one wants to sleep but they can't, when one feels exhausted, but finds it so difficult to rest.
Oh, yes, Ma envied people who simply closed their eyes and fell asleep... The night acted as a transmitter for her thoughts (only she was also the reciever!). The thoughts hit her with the speed of light, from everywhere and in every way. So, she tried to filter them; to dispel the negative, stresfull thoughts and keep only the creative ones.
Ma (though she was used to waking up early, because she liked the lucidity of the morning) thought that night has a dark ability of attracting the artists. It has a different magic from the morning. Night creates inspiration. In the absolute silence of the night, it is easier for your true voice to surface... The defenses subside and your real self appers...
Ma believed that night and creation are friends, just like Ma and Eu... who used to stay up and talk at weird hours in order to share some new idea...
When that happend, they always said to each other that they had been vampired... that they had become, in a way, vampires...
And, thus, the Vampire was created...
It should be fairy-noted:
- When Ma wrote a new song, she'd always give it to Eu to write the melody. Under the lyrics, she always kept notes about how she came up with it, why she wrote it, how she imagined it, etc... Beneath the particular song, she only wrote one sentence: "Does this ring a bell?"
- Ma considers all songs as children of the three elves. She could never pick one and separate it from the others. However, denying that she has a soft spot for this one would be a lie...
